Manchester United Closing in on double swoop - Reports

Manchester United's transfer plans are beginning to take shape with deals for Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic thought to be close.

Manchester United are set to revise their bid for Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.
The improved offer would see United pay £25 million upfront, with a further £5 million in add-on payments, according to a report in the Mail
.

Villarreal are thought to want more of the overall fee immediately – but given they are set to net a substantial profit on the £4 million they paid for his services in 2015, there is confidence in the United boardroom that they can get a deal done that satisfies all parties.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been identified by Jose Mourinho as a player with the right physical attributes to excel in the Premier League and the move could be concluded swiftly.

Meanwhile, another player set for a switch to Old Trafford is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

There have been a flurry of reports today that he is set to sign for the club on a one-year deal, with an announcement likely at some point on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old is a free agent this summer and in huge demand – but United are very much in pole position to land him.
When asked about his future earlier this week, Ibrahimovic was typically evasive, saying: "There will be a big announcement on June 7. It will be this summer's big bomb.
"It feels good, feels better than good. A lot will happen with this news, so hopefully you'll all enjoy."
And also, according to Sky Italia , United are set to launch a bid for Chelsea's Nemanja Matic.

The midfielder excelled under Mourinho at Chelsea and with United in need of added steel, the 27-year-old is seen as an ideal target.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Old Trafford club have already spoken to Chelsea officials about a deal.
Matic's form this season was poor – but he was widely seen as a key player the season before when the west London side swept to a league-and-cup double.
